Mt. Bethel Baptist Association of DC, MD and VA
The Mt. Bethel Baptist Association (MTBBA) is one of the oldest Baptist Associations in America. It was organized in 1875 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Arlington, VA. The first session was held on September 5, 1877, at the First Baptist Church in SW Washington, DC.
The mission of MTBBA is to establish partnership and fellowship among Baptist churches in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia for the work of evangelism, education, and effective ministry for Christ.
The MTBBA envisions establishing partnership and fellowship among Baptist Churches in Washington D.C., MD, and VA.
We envision providing the following ministry services to our constituent churches: denominational support, evangelism accomplished through missions/mission support, workshop training, a youth camp, and a substance abuse treatment center.
We envision providing the following resources, information, expertise, and facilitation to our constituent churches: support for church planting efforts, discipleship, Christian education and more.
We envision structuring our Association to mirror the ministries of our constituent churches including women’s ministry, laymen’s ministry, youth ministry, choir ministry, usher’s ministry, etc.
We envision developing and expanding Mt. Bethel’s property to include (but not limited to): a hotel a conference/convocation center, multi-use housing, including recreational facilities and condos/timeshares.
